John Campbell-Mac Blog, Las Vegas, Interview and Dancing on Ice May 6 2012

A week later than I intended but got a bit way laid in Las Vegas last week so please forgive me, Vegas what a crazy place, all things good and all things bad all at the same time, I find myself caught between loving and loathing the place – funny but getting ahead of myself…

A blast from the past

So been lucky enough to catch up with a few friends from London recently, had a great workout with my friend and personal trainer Jamie Sawyer. He was in town for a minute training a few famous faces and was gracious enough to swing bye so we could catch up. We worked together years ago and were laughing about the times we spent then and the lives we’re living now, but that’s another story.

John Campbell-Mac David Haye Jamie Sawyer

Jamie has worked with Gerard Butler, Noel Clark and got Andi Peters in shape for the cover of Men’s Health magazine but is probably best known for working with former world heavyweight champion boxer David Haye (I’m a fan, what an incredible warrior David is, do you know to win the title he fought the 7 foot Russian fighter Nikolai Valuev the Beast from the East, a man almost 100lb heavier than him, talk about David and Goliath Rocky has got nothing on him) here’s a link to some of Jamie’s stuff,

New magazine interview

I had a fun piece of press in W.I.T magazine and enjoyed chatting with the lovely people there, in fact so much fun I managed to chat for 4 pages ha ha even after being edited. You can read the full article on line at or pick up a hard copy, I hope you find something in there that will make you smile.

Viva Las Vegas

Managed to combine a little work and play in Las Vegas, had some close friends in town (all the excuse I needed to go) who I drove up to meet and believe me we had a blast. Unfortunately the air conditioning stopped working on my car so the 5 hour drive there really was a blast, a blast of hot air through the windows ha ha.

Also managed to fit in a meeting with producers about an upcoming boxing documentary project which may see me traveling to London for the Olympics during the filming, so fingers crossed there.

Dancing on Ice 2012 The Tour

Lastly huge congrats to my brother Chico, he is really enjoying the Dancing on Ice 2012 live tour and according to the press stealing the show see

This comes as no surprise at all, he is such a born performer and entertainer he has been casting he’s magic spell on live audience’s for the last 20 years in one guise or another and he’s positive mental attitude transmits and is infectious. I spoke to him in the week and he was really full of praise for his fellow performers especially Matthew Wolfenden (who I quote “is such a top guy”) Jorgie Porter and Jennifer Ellison, not to mention Torvill and Dean to whom he says he will be eternally greatful for the whole incredible Dancing on Ice experience (not to mention their guidance and I bet loads of patience while teaching him ha ha). Here’s a little live footage of Chico and Jodeye Higgins performing the Bolero

Something new

Speaking of inspirational stuff I thought I would start ending each blog with a thought or quote for the day which sums up where I’m currently at so todays quote…

“It’s better to be a fool and have fun than cool and have none” ha ha always makes me smile now let’s get the whole world laughing.
